About the Doll Maker

Amanda Day

ooak artist amanda devirgilio Amanda is a polymer clay doll maker who loves to express her unique and sometimes quirky imagination. She is a young Australian self-taught artist slowly making her way up the artistic ladder.

Amanda was married on the 7th August 2010 an went by the name Amanda DeVirgilio but due to a change in circumstances is now known by her maiden name again.

2010 Newcastle Charity Doll Show-Best Original


Amanda has a record of currently winning prizes in every competition she has entered.

2011

Bundaberg Doll Show-Australia.
Her doll "Laila" won:
*Blue Ribbon- for scoring between 90-100 points for technical execution
*Gold Medallion for best in category
*Purple Rosette for best in whole section
*Pink Rosette for Champion of Show and
*A crystal vase trophy


2010

Newcastle Charity Doll Show- Australia.
Her doll "Victoria" won:
*Top Original trophy
*Blue Ribbon.
This was the first doll show competition Amanda had ever entered and was thrilled it showed good results.

Sydney Northern Districts Doll and Bear Guild
*Blue ribbon and gold star for her doll "The Fairy Emergence"

World of Froud Artist Award
*for her overall sculpting abilities in April 2010.
